For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
This website is a collection of articles related to issues of modern American culture, written from an overtly Christian perspective (as if we could write from any other). These articles are maintained (and normally written) by the various brothers of the Hurd family, of Weatherford Texas notoriety.
On the Name
The website name, Fortifying the Kingdom, is selected as progression of the website which our father created, back in the early 2000s (www.FortifyingTheFamily.com). The name was selected for three reasons:
- In recognition of the imperative role our father played in raising us to fear and love The Lord.
- As a token of God’s requirement that we obediently exercise our responsibility to advance Christ’s kingdom in society, in addition to our role as fathers.
- The desire we brothers collectively hold to advance the work God started in our father’s life within our own generation, and on to subsequent generations.
We pray that are blessed by the content of the website, and that God will mercifully maintain us steadfastly in His calling, according to love for Him, through faithful obedience.
